Slowly (Slowly)

We take so much for granted, they and I
We share a life in one dimension
Our problems always seem to cloud the sky
But we don't pay them much attention
And with every day, we drift apart
I can feel it in my heart
That the clouds and storms are coming, you know
Although a part of the signal's still so slow
There's something wrong and I feel the waves die
lowly, slowly

No analog words and no ultra-blue streams
And we should take it as a warning
We keep on going through the old routines
Space station glides on through the morning
And with every day we drift apart
And the fear is in my heart
I read the signs and I should be more sure
And yet a distant sound echoes where we were
There's something wrong and I feel the light die
slowly, glowing

Our fire's just a distant memory
And in its place a cold Orion
A cold shifting arm where there used to be
At least a violet horizon

But a feeling still of radiance
It gives little hope, I guess
Out here we'll drift as unknown faded light
If it should be we'd drift endlessly from sight
It's like a myth, but I feel my world die slowly
The stars scattered and distantly flow
Telescopes will trace debris within this glow

There's something wrong and I feel the light die
slowly, slowly

One Of Us (One Of Us)

You passed me by
All of those silent glances
You were, I felt, robbing me
Of my only chances
My mind unclear
Everything seemed uneasy
And so I felt very low
One of us had to go
Still no different
I guess you should know

One of us is crying
One of us is lying in her lonely bed
Staring at the ceiling wishing she was
Somewhere else instead
One of us is lonely
One of us is only waiting for a call
Sorry for herself
Feeling stupid, feeling small
Wishing she had never left at all

I saw all this
As undefined illusion
I felt you kept me away
In the dark and seclusion
Just like a bird
Soaring heights without knowing
How you misguided me so
One of us had to go
Now I've changed and
I want you to know

One of us was crying
One of us was lying in her lonely bed
Staring at the ceiling wishing she was
Somewhere else instead
One of us was lonely
One of us was only waiting for a call
Sorry for herself
Feeling stupid, feeling small
Wishing she had never left at all
Never left at all

The Day Before You Came (Collection of Versions)

The Day Before I Died (The Day Before You Came)

I must have left my house early, because I always do
The knights were gathered with sword and shield waiting for their cue
I must have read the demo paper going into town
And having gotten to the 'who's been exiled' no doubt I must have frowned
I must have done my task and added a little something fine
With letters to be sent, trying to recall rewards, each design
I must have gone to drills
Just to wonder at where my life here goes, the usual strife
And still on top of this I’m pretty sure lune must have waned
The day before their reign

I must have fought back when they had separated the crowd
And at the time I never even noticed I thought out loud
I must have kept on dragging through the rigors of the day
Without really knowing anything, I hid a part of me away
At length I must have left, only escaping from their rule
A matter of regime, I'd seen it emerge from dark winter's pool
The way back home again,
Yes I was judged a thousand times in secret meeting then
Oh yes, I’m sure my life was well studied by baleful eyes
The day when a dream dies

I must have opened a door to another year or so
And passed along the way to see flowers on my grave grow
I’m sure I recalled the matter sadly and uneasy
There’s not, I think, a single memory of the past that I didn’t see
I must have lit a torch at midnight barely outside fen
I need a lot of sleep, and so I like to be asleep by then
I often stayed awhile
To hear a work of Wilhelm Grimm or something in that style
It's funny, but I had no fear until I was their aim
The day before they came

And turning down the light
I must have yawned, hidden in sleep for yet another night
And rain heard on the roof I must have drifted off and sighed
The day before I died

The Day Before You Came (Martian Ghosts Version)

I must have noted the Martian weather report at night
My train, I'm certain, left the station then sped out of sight
I must have seen the looming reddish clouds over the town
And passing through a time lag on such a long somber ride, I felt so down
I must have made the line around a quarter after nine
With reports to be read, and word of rumors, whispers of the sign
I've seen the outpost bare
An empty void of night, not a soul there, a silent stare
And still on driest wind the ghosts of Mars have taken claim
The day before you came

I must have relayed all of the details known to be true
But as it is I never felt more alone and so blue
I felt a steady pressure of endless night turning day
Within the reddish pale aura gleam, I kept a part of me away
At Firsoff crater's left, there's a strange shadow from the gloom
A matter of routine, I've named it a long since passed sense of doom
The train back home again
Undoubtedly I must have waited along the side then
Oh yes, I'm sure my life was well within its usual frame
The day before you came

A trench along the way where whispers guide which way to go
And gliding past an old odd door standing ten feet or so
I'm sure I watched a distant Martian storm and loved to see
The red planet of the past emerging once again what it used to be
I must have fallen asleep rounding six clicks after ten
I'll stay for the deep sleep, and dreams will flood in like Phobos by then
I must have walked a mile
The atmosphere less oppressive once sun sets in a while
It's funny, but I had no fear of going all the same
The day before you came

And autopilot light
Must have made me yawn, huddled up for yet another night
And Martian ghosts of long ago that I could not explain
The day before you came

The Winner Takes It All (Collection of Versions)

The Winner Takes It All (The Company Of Wolves Myth Version)

I don't wanna know
About things I've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Far gone history
I've played all their tune
In forest deep and blue
Nothing more to say
No more stakes to stay

The Company of Wolves
An outcast among the fools
Beside their victory
Empty destiny

I was in their midst
Thinking I'd belong there
I figured it made sense
Being an apprentice
Being a complete innocent
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by their rules

Their gods may throw down ice
A sin ever in their eyes
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
Travelin' round the seas
Without fearing the reefs
The grim and fog demands
Like Transylvanian lands
The Company of Wolves
Treading in quiet shoes
Yet it's just all in vain
Why do wounds still pain?

But tell me, do you miss
Like I miss you now?
Does it feel the same
When forest calls my name?
Somewhere deep inside
Forest echoes fall down
But what can I say?
Signs must be obeyed

The judges will decide
Death or a place to hide
Villagers of a hold
Shouting as they're told
The hunt is on again
To lose and miss a friend
A trophy or a rag-doll
The winner takes it all

I don't wanna talk
This forest quiet and sad
And I understand
Wolves are close at hand
I apologize
If I trod where you had
Seeing the moon so dense
No path from doom hence
But you know

In the Company of Wolves
We were in the Company of Wolves

The Winner Takes It All (Rosaleen Version)       or
The Company of Wolves (The Winner Takes It All)

I don't wanna walk
Through the forest tonight
Low moon glowing dim
Low tones on the wind
I've walked through dark woods
And stayed hidden from sight
Nothing seeming real
Nothing I can feel

The company of wolves
The village fears to lose
Another soul so pure
No one's ever sure

They danced by smiling
Thinking all was safe there
But they were too worn down
By the tales from town
By the silent snow
Twas always beguiling
Never falling here
Mists displacing fear

The woods may clear the path
They don't sound out their wrath
Quiet when you're too small
The loss of it all

The company of wolves
The moonlight is a ruse
The simple times and age
Shadowing its rage

But far off skies are light
They know nothing of us
We're alone out here
All but disappeared
Somehow we'd be seen
If candlelight shines thus
But what do they say?
Tales are such this way

The darkness will subside
After it storms all night
A place centers a well
Where they hear the tale

The night comes in again
A whisper or low wind
Full moon now high above
Cloaked in night is enough

I don't wanna speak
If the tale seems too dark
Trees stand listening
Their keepers gone missing
I feel very sad
So much was lost for naught
Forest paths so dense
No safety it lends

But you hear,
The company of wolves
The company of wolves

(So the moonlight - Shines all night
And the quiet - Sounds which fall
Clear the path - Sound their wrath
You're too small - Of it all
The moonlight - Shines all night
Yes it's sad - lost for naught)

The Winner Takes It All (Lost Version)         or
The Land of the Lost (The Winner Takes It All)

My name was Holly
The only thing I had
In a world long lost
In a world known not
We fell beyond time
And so we came at last
To an unknown place
Some forgotten age

The winner takes it all
In dark we took the fall
A mighty earthquake rose
Where the river flows

At first it was fine
I began feeling safe
I saw with starry eyes
A green paradise
It felt like a home
Three moons over the cave
But it was so vague
The peril too strange

The land where we were lost
The place we never sought
And somehow way down here
Loss becomes our fear

The winner takes it all
Some unknown victor's call
To take us far away
From lives we had made

Just tell me, does it show
A soft light from the sun?
I just want to see
If it moves to me
Like the light I knew
You must feel the same one
The same warmth it gives
But in clouds it lives

The objects forming round
Sleek crystals from the ground
Canyons of colors glow
Like lights far below

The time is static here
A prehistoric sphere
Cave and tree, stone and wall
The winner takes it all

I cannot explain
Memories drifting slow
Recalled with a sigh
I've seen the tears you cry
I can see the pain
Escape we'll never know
Crumbling upon sand
Silent unsafe land

The winner takes it all
In dark we took the fall
A mighty earthquake rose
Where the river flows

In the land of the lost
In the land of the lost

(So the winner takes it all
And through the earth we did fall
So the winner takes it all
And through the earth we did fall)

The Winner Takes It All (Ring of Doom Version)

In dark unknown dreams
Something silent awoke
Through ages long gone
Through tales and a song
Hope is lost it seems
And my thoughts never spoke
Of a legend true
Now drawn from the blue

The thunder sounds to all
Dark skies suddenly fall
A golden ring was found
A fate to which we're bound

Dwelling safely sound
By fires warm and sleepy
Flowers and trees blooming
But shadows looming
Began slowly to fall
Sinking in so deeply
But I was so numb
Knowing what would come

The lords may cast a light
Stars shine through forest night
Small feet travel so far
Bearing Morgul scar

The Ring of Doom to all
Hearing its master's call
It's calling through the rain
Then you feel the pain

Tell me if you recall
The sun back in the day
When we'd walk a path
From meadows and laugh
Somewhere deep inside
You must know the long way
Strained the memory
Passing far from me

The mountain will send flame
We'll see and know its name
Where we will meet our end
Nae! Govano ven

The thunder rumbles near
Deafening beats I hear
A golden ring so small
The Dark Lord takes it all

I can barely breathe
Smoke and ash fill the air
And I try to stand
Because you take my hand
I feel very weak
It's so heavy to bear
And all consuming
What life we're losing

Past recall,
The Ring of Doom to all
The Ring of Doom to all

The Winner Takes It All (End Times Gladiator Version)

I don't feel the same
It's hard what we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played in the game
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser's standing small
Beside the victory
That's her destiny

I was in belief
Thinking I belonged there
The figures made no sense
Your word for defense
Building up my hopes
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was so fooled
The chains of the ruled

The Gods may throw the dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses all that's dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain?

But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
when she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You know I can't miss you
Never had a say
Never did you stay

The judges will decide
No choice of me aside
Spectators up on rows
Always pointing low
The name is called again
An enemy, not a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all

I don't wanna talk
It all makes me feel sad
And I understand
You've come but hold no hand
I apologize
For seeing all that's bad
Seeing all so dense
No real luminance

But you see,
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all

The Winner Takes It All (False Final Days Version)  or
For Another Thousand Years (The Winner Takes It All)

I just couldn't talk
Now's the time for reflection
This was never my time
Makes no sense, no rhyme
In Last Days we walk
That for us always mention
Though it's destiny
Now bleak history

Another thousand years
Time never sees the tears
Though we've lived still it's plain
We may wait in vain

You watch over all
From a celestial stance
Always from afar
From another star
In time there's a lull
Was everything by chance?
Was it ever close?
It's a long repose

But the dice had been thrown
Fell in a deaf'ning tone
Hidden by the sun's glare
The truth was out there
For another thousand years
Time will play on your fears
There's no escape why run?
The drift has begun

But tell me do you know
How I raced to the door?
Sure-footed and fast
Along crumbling tracks
If you always knew
The timing in this war
You've hidden it well
For no one could tell

And the decades have gone
But years are dragging on
A wave forming a wall
Dark is how they fall
Another thousand years
Tomorrow never nears
One day is never named
The memory's still the same

I don't talk of this
No one would understand
The depth of sorrow
And there's no one to know
There's something I miss
But slips away like sand
From beyond the sea
A bleak history

Another thousand years
Another thousand years

(For another thousand years
And time will play on your fears
Just a few days ago
Beyond the sea, history
Thousand years, none to know)

Victorious Vindication (Highland)

Looming over a frozen shore of sand
The darkness oppressing most of the land
It's lasted, through a thousand lifetimes of tyranny
Everywhere the fear has taken its toll
Leaving a path of the defeated soul
Faraway, a faded strand of hope died within me

Now it finally has come to light and there's no way back again
You've turned now, and lost out, and gave no answer of where or when
The darkest nights never see, what I've spied in my dreams
That a downfall is what I foresee

Victorious vindication
Storm the dark to retaliation
Where our lives show and the truth flows
To take back our light
Victorious vindication
Clear thunderous illumination
When the sky rolls
Like waves of gold, all the night

I watched the darkness spread like a plague
I heard them move like thunder where they tread
And we all slipped away to some dark place underground
The turmoil as death reigned over all
I know when hope was crushed, then let to fall
By the conquering march that leveled life all around

But I've got a secret hidden deep within about defeat
They'll see suddenly awakening the seas will not retreat
It will crumble them like a cosmic event of flames
And as before we are taking names

Victorious vindication
Storm the dark to retaliation
Where our lives show and the truth flows
To take back our light
Victorious vindication
Clear thunderous illumination
When the sky rolls
Like waves of gold

On the highland, to the lowland, righteous vengeance, it's sweet!

Oh the hardships that lasted, there was no way to win
On the path ending to begin

If you see it I can promise you'll see for all eternity

Victorious vindication...

Sunken sages, from the ages, to the ether, foreseen

On the mountains and the highlands unfolding awaited prophecy

The Hero Of Time (He's A Soldier Now)

Hidden in the warmth of Lost Woods
You seek the Deku for a guide
And the forest host fairy light
Lighting the pathway at night

Call for a hero now

Growing up without any fear
The Triforce never broke apart
But now it's breaking your heart
Beyond a place not so clear

Seeking the Hero of Time

For the Sage Saria (la-ah)
And the song you played on your ocarina (rina)
He'll bring the sun
Night and day his quest goes by fate

In Forest Temple lair (in forest temple lair)
From the past and to the past you knew (songs for water, fire, and air)
All corners of Hyrule
For the Hero of Time

From the windmill's hidden lore
Toward Zora's Domain
You took the Master Sword
Remember the days of yore
And now, and now, Woodfall defeated

Now the moon hangs over all the land
And the Great Bay not so far away
And Anju comes to a secret place
With a letter in her hand

Masked is the Hero of Time

For the Sage Saria (la-ah)
And the song you played on your ocarina (rina)
He'll bring the sun
Night and day his quest goes by fate

Tragedy (Tragedy)

Here I go, to a lost and lonely world of blue
Back in time, in a world of years that count so few

Here I stand, in a lost and lonely land we found
Held in time, in a world of tears I'd slowly drown

Calling home, I just can't make it all alone
My signal should be coming through, coming through
Nothing to lock onto

Tragedy, when the sunlight fades to an eerie haze
It's tragedy, when the South winds sigh and you don't know why
It's hard to bear, with no one to hear you
You're going nowhere
Tragedy, when you lose control and you feel so low
It's tragedy, when the South winds sigh and you don't know why
It's hard to bear, with no one beside you
You're going nowhere

Night and day, there's burning down inside of me
A burning love, for a world that just cannot be

Down I go, I just can't take it all alone
I really should be coming through, coming through
Nothing to hold onto

Tragedy, when the sunlight fades to an eerie haze
It's tragedy, when the South winds sigh and you don't know why
It's hard to bear, with no one to hear you
You're going nowhere
Tragedy, when you lose control and you feel so low
It's tragedy, when the South winds sigh and you don't know why
It's hard to bear, with no one beside you
You're going nowhere

Tragedy, when the sunlight fades to an eerie haze
It's tragedy, when the South winds sigh and you don't know why
It's hard to bear, with no one to hear you
You're going nowhere
Tragedy, when you lose control and you feel so low
It's tragedy, when the South winds sigh and your heart just dies
It's hard to bear, with no one beside you
You're going nowhere
